Witty and charming, Brian Langan is this month's featured artist in Freedlove Scranton.  His work is both mind-boggling and deliciously fantastic and begs us asking what exactly goes on inside his head?  Using marker, paint, and the "dark arts", Brian describes his style as "appetizing fantasy".  He is heavily inspired by fun, magic, realms, gum, organic weapons, food and desirable women.   His club of all time greats includes Shel Silverstein, Marc Bolan, Madmartigan and Milkbay Comics.  He also says that as of late he's been heavily inspired by pinball art of the 60's, 70's, and 80's.  Ever the personality, Brian is definitely a likable guy and his personality is bright, just like his artwork.  There is no lack of color here, in both life and art.  He'll rock Freedlove's world on Friday July 6, 2012 and we just can't wait.

Sweet Prints!

Hey everybody, we'd like you to meet thebigharumph.  They make these adorable letterpress prints and as you can see in the above image, every block is hand-carved.  The artist Georgia uses the phrase "so handmade it hurts".  We like to say, "so cute it hurts".  We've put together a collection to display for First Friday February.  All images via thebigharumph.
